Dear authors, reviewers, readers, colleagues and friends,

after wonderful 11 years of my service at Biochemia Medica, the time has come for me to retire from the Editor-in-chief position. Looking back, I must say that I am proud and pleased with what our Journal has become. It has been a great privilege for me to be a part of this spectacular Journey and I wish to express my deepest gratitude to our readers, reviewers and authors for their continuous support and appreciation of our work.

With great pleasure I wish to take this opportunity to inform you that Professor Daria Pasalic has just been appointed as a new Editor-in-chief of Biochemia Medica, by the Executive Board of Croatian Society of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine. Professor Pasalic has begun her term starting from October 1st and has now fully taken over the direction of the journal.

Professor Pasalic has served for six years as Assistant Editor at Biochemia Medica and has gained wealthy experience throughout these years. I am sure that she will continue to successfully shape the future of Biochemia Medica as a valuable platform for dissemination of high quality research in laboratory medicine.

I warmly welcome Professor Pasalic to her new role and wish her a lot of success in the years to come.
