Opportunity for Young Scientists from EFLM National Society Members - bursary programme for 5th joint EFLM-UEMS Congress

Dear members,

EFLM is promoting a bursary programme for Young Scientists attending the 5th joint EFLM-UEMS Congress to be held on 10-13 October 2018 in Antalya (http://eflm-uems-antalya2018.org).

The bursaries will cover the cost of the travel, 3-night accommodation and registration fee for a maximum of Eur 750. EFLM bursary recipients will also receive a free on-line yearly subscription to Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM), kindly offered by de Gruyter.

Eligible candidates must come from an EFLM Member Society and meet the following criteria:
- young participants (≤35y at the date of the conference);
- having a poster abstract accepted as First Author (deadline for abstract submission June 30, 2018)

Applications must be submitted through the attached application form and accompanied by the following documentation:
1) Copy of the ID or passport,
2) Document proving the membership to the EFLM National Society,
3) Notification of poster acceptance (acceptance/rejection will be sent by the congress organizers within July 31, 2018)

4th ESPT Summer School „Precision Medicine and Personalised Health“

Dear members,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 4th ESPT Summer School that will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from September 24th to September 27th, 2018.

European Society of Pharmacogenetics and Personalised Therapy (ESPT) together with the Swiss Personalised Health Network (SPHN) is organising summer school as an intensive teaching and learning event that will raise the education levels in pharmacogenomics and personalized therapy several steps higher.

Innovative and original programming will enable to present, share, debate and conclude on the opportunity to translate genetic laboratory test results into actionable prescribing decisions, emphasising the importance of teamwork in the use of personalized medicine for improving patient care in the clinical setting.

Participants in the summer school will include:
-physicians, pharmacists, and other clinical and biomedical scientists at all stages of their career that want to learn about this evolving clinical and research field,
-graduate and postgraduate students interested in pharmacogenomics and related fields,
-regulators, government employees, insurance scientists, bioinformaticiens, bioethicists and other professionals

Early bird registration is until June 30, 2018. and deadline registration: September 1, 2018. Please be aware that the number of participants is limited to 80!

Survey of the EFLM WG on Congresses and Postgraduate Education - „MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice“

Dear members,

We would like to invite you as a Member of an EFLM National Society to participate in an EFLM WG-CPE survey related to the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice, which prescribes high standards for participation of IVD industry in Third Party Organized Educational Events in terms of charitable donations, educational grants, scholarships and fellowships.

The survey aims to investigate the previous and current practice in terms of cooperation between professionals or professional societies and IVD industry, as well as the future plans under incorporation of the MedTech Europe Code.

Annual IFCC Survey

Dear members,

We would like to invite you to complete the annual IFCC Survey which has been developed by CPD and the Committee on Public Relations to survey the membership across the IFCC organization and seek input on the impact and effectiveness of IFCC publications, scientific and educational programs, and various IFCC activities globally.

The questionnaire should take five to ten minutes of your time and your participation will be greatly appreciated. The answers will be kept strictly confidential and only used for the purposes of this research. The results of the survey will be analysed and published in the IFCC newsletter annually. The data will also be made available on the IFCC website and presented at IFCC regional conferences.
