7th Symposium of pharmacy and medical biochemistry students (FARMEBS 2018)

We invite you to participate in 7th Symposium of pharmacy and medical biochemistry students (FARMEBS 2018) that will take place at University of Zagreb Faculty Pharmacy and Biochemistry, at 2nd of June 2018.
FARMEBS 2018 will be dedicated to all aspects of drug research - design and synthesis, action mechanisms, application, quality control and biomarkers in diagnostics.
It is a great honor to announce a plenary lecture on sterol synthesis disorder by Željka Korade from University of Nebraska, USA, a professor of pediatric medicine, biochemistry and molecular biology, and one of the most renowned experts in the research of hereditary metabolic disorders.
We invite all graduate and postgraduate students to join as active listeners or presenters of their dissertations and papers in the form of oral or poster presentations. Most successful presentations will receive valuable prizes.

Piet Meijer at 9th HDMBLM Congress

Dear all,

It is a great honor to present dr. Pieta Meijer, chair of ECAT, an unprofitable organization that provides external quality control for area of hemostasis and thrombosis. He is also the chair of Working Group for homeostasis at European Quality Control Assessment in Laboratory Medicine (EQALM). Dr. Meijer primary focus is better quality assurance which leads to better diagnostic and therapeutic outcome for patients.

In Ask expert section PS1 am Zagreb, from 8th-12th of May 2018, you can hear him speak on analitical imprecision and bias, based on his experiance in homeostasis EQAS.

5th Central-Eastern European Congress on cell-Free Nucleic Acid in Debrecen on 21st-22nd of June 2018

Dear all,

We invite you to join us at 5th Central-Eastern European Congress on cell-Free Nucleic Acid in Debrecen on 21st-22nd of June 2018. Previous congresses focused on research and application of cell-Free Nucleic Acids in prenatal screening and diagnosis of genetic diseases that has already a routine procedure in non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT). Now there is an interest in using cell free nucleic acids (cfNA) from liquid bioptates in the field of oncology and diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, which we are focusing on at this year’s congress. The role of encapsulation of microparticle cfNAs is a new research area, since the role of this particles is still unknown. The possibility of horizontal gene transfer (genometastasis) has scientists puzzled. At this year’s congress a few world experts will share their views on this.
